(More customer reviews)I've bought 4 of these so far because I love it so much. I have one connected to my home stereo, one in my car, and I've gifted two. I use it with my iPhone 3gs.
In your home stereo, this is a much better option than the standard charging station with a remote. Instead of needing a remote, I just keep my iPhone next to me on the couch and if I want to change the music/audiobook/podcast, I just use my iPhone, not some lame remote that doesn't work well and is not full featured. If I get a call, my phone is next to me and not docked on my stereo system.
I use it in my car and and my iPhone seamlessly transitions from headphones to car stereo (via BB bluetooth gateway) when I turn the car on (since BTSG is powered from cigarette lighter). Doesn't transition back to headphones when car is turned off though. Have to wait for it to stop playing because output was disconnected (2-3 seconds) and start playing again. Could also switch between output sources on the phone, but it's usually in my pocket.
The fact that it charges from a usb power source makes it easy to use in my car and at home.
NOTE: it's only for audio output, and doesn't work as a cellphone headset. I didn't want this feature so it's ok with me, but just so you know.
