Samsung 12.2 Mp 5X Opt Zoom 3.5IN Ts LCD with Gps Bt Red Review

Samsung 12.2 Mp 5X Opt Zoom 3.5IN Ts LCD with Gps Bt Red

With GPS and wireless, this is the future of cameras and many electronics. It is easy to use and takes very good quality photos for a compact. And of course it has GPS and Wifi/Bluetooth. The touchscreen is large and is very easy to use (the easiest I've ever used).
I'd like to give this a 4.5 stars rating since the issues I had with it are minor: 1) the GPS can be a bit slow getting the initial fix and 2) the touchscreen is a bit sensitive sometimes causing it to bring up menus when you don't want to, and 3) I have a preference for regular SD cards verses micro SD.
I've had mine for 2 weeks and overall I really enjoy it and the my larger digital SLR (without GPS) is collecting dust on the shelf.

Kodak EasyShare V610 6MP Digital Camera with 10x Dual-Lens Optical Zoom Review

Kodak V610 review
I have owned this camera for about 3 weeks, and I love it. I have captured about 4 hours of video inside and outside and about 200 still shots inside and outside.
The V610 is a consumer point and shoot still camera and a great 640 by 480 - 30 frame per second movie camera, both with 10 times zoom. If you are looking to have a camera in your pocket whenever you come upon a situation where you want to take a high quality snapshot or a home movie video, I highly recommend this camera. It is fantastic. It takes a reliable snapshot and a very smooth video and fits into my shirt pocket
However, if you are looking to be the next Ansel Adams or need professional videos ... get other much larger and more expensive cameras, with much larger lenses and much more powerful lights.
In my opinion, this is the best and most powerful shirt pocket sized camera on the market today.
Prior to this I owned a digital still camera an Olympus Camedia C-4040 4MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Zoom and a very small DV video tape camera, a Panasonic model PV DV 201. Now that I own the V610, I no longer have to carry a camera bag with me to the zoo, or family reunions or other events. As a replacement for both of those cameras, this is a fantastic choice.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen great photo opportunities at events in the last several years before I owned this camera, but the appropriate camera was either in the camera bag or in the car, and how often I wanted greater than a 3x optical zoom in my still camera.
The 6.1 megapixel resolution is sufficient to allow you to capture nice snapshots, and with a powerful 10x optical zoom, you can be sitting in the back row still get a great still shot or a video and the video to my eye is nearly the equal of a consumer quality DV tape camera. I think that this is one of a very few digital still cameras that allow you to optical zoom while shooting videos.
As with most camera purchases additional equipment is necessary to make the camera most useable. I purchased the following additional equipment to go with the camera:
>> A 2GB high speed (x133) SD memory card which it allows me to shoot a combination of up to almost one hour of video or up to about 1,100 - 6 megapixel still shots- that's right, one hour of MPEG-4 video fits on the 2gb card, with good TV quality video and sound. I paid about $85.00 USD.
>> 3 spare non-Kodak brand batteries. I paid about $12.00 USD each.
>> A 6 in 1 San Disk PC card adapter - card reader for my laptop - no software needed for the laptop, and the SD memory card acts just like a hard drive and I copy the still pictures and the .mov quicktime videos to my hard drive (the provided USB cable is too slow and the camera needs to be turned on the entire time during downloads with a cable). I paid about $24.00 USD.
>> A thin leather case - To protect the camera. I paid about $15.00 USD.
>> A 250gb USB2 external hard drive for backing up the photographs and movies.

I bought the AOKA-1G in preference to the Nikon GPS because feedback indicated that the power drain of the camera body was much lower. I found that the AOKA-1G had no discernible impact on battery life compared to no adapter at all. I chose a Tom Tom Bluetooth GPS (the selection of those devices is getting small) and after some fumbling managed to link the two. The GiSTEQ adapter's instructions for doing so were somewhat unclear but once I established the link, subsequent link-ups went smoothly.

Canon WFT-E1 Wireless File Transmitter for Canon 20D, 30D, 40D, 5D, 1D Mark II and 1Ds Mark II Digital SLR Review

Canon WFT-E1 Wireless File Transmitter for Canon 20D, 30D, 40D, 5D, 1D Mark II and 1Ds Mark II Digital SLR
Average Reviews:

This device will use an ad hoc transmission to an FTP configured laptop (ie with built in wireless), but at the slower 801.11b mode - generally plenty fast enough >1mbyte/sec, so a high res raw file will be transferred in 10 seconds.
This has a great range - can cover a football field with extnded range antenna - blue tooth is unreliable across a dance floor.
If you are pro and need fast upload to acomputer for client reasons, go for it.
Pricey, but then they don't sell 1,000,000 of 'em to recoup the development cost.
One safe guard is it won't work if you are out of memory - you always have a backup of what you sent - on the card! Of course you can delete it then after your partner calls you on your blue tooth ear bud to let you know it was received and being printed for sale as you shoot your next shot!

Olympus 262911 E-PL2 14-42mm Digital Camera (Silver) Review

Olympus 262911 E-PL2 14-42mm Digital Camera (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This camera and the accompanied 14-42mm kit lens are a great compact package with DSLR level performance.
IMAGE QUALITY: excellent jpeg images; DSLR quality.
OPERATION SPEED: fast & quiet focus with kit lens (substantial improvement over E-PL1); quick shot to shot.
ART FILER MODE: very cool, I use this all the times; post processing is not instantaneous, but much much faster than previous PEN cameras.
IMAGE STABILIZATION: in body image stabilization works fairly well.
There's an advantage: it's great for using non IS lens such as the excellent Lumix 20mm f1.7; For longer focal lengths, it might be better to use Lumix G's IS zoom lenses.
BODY: well-built, nice looking, comfortable to hold and feels solid in hand.
BUTTONS: easy to operate and highly customizable.
LCD: good resolution for magnified playback.
MENU: straight forward, but lots of options.
VIDEO: good HD quality; playback nicely on PC and TV via HDMI cable.
FLASH: convenient and works well.
OTHERS: optional external electronic view finder VF-2 is excellent, but not necessary.
Optional underwater housing is not too expensive.
COMPARED to previous Olympus PEN cameras: E-PL2 is noticeably more responsive, especially in ART FILDER mode.
COMPARED to Panasonic LUMIX G cameras: the Lumixes are good but the Olympus has ART FILTER mode and in body Image Stabilization.
COMPARED to Sony NEX 5: image quality of the NEX 5 is great due to its bigger sensor and it has a fantastic hires flippable LCD. However, the NEX 5 lacks some standard features such as 1:1 square image format and a remote cable release.

Olympus PEN E-PL2 12.3 MP CMOS Micro Four Thirds Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens (Black) Review

Olympus PEN E-PL2 12.3 MP CMOS Micro Four Thirds Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens (Black)
Average Reviews:

I asked Olympus if I could review this camera. I had written reviews for them before. To preface the review I will mention that I own several of the Olympus EP2 cameras and the EPL1 camera. While the EPL series cameras don't come with the accessory finder, VF-2, I consider it the reason to buy this camera and this family of cameras. More on that in a second. I gave this camera five stars but you should be clear that all ratings are contextual. It's not a better camera than a Nikon D3 or a Canon 1dsmk3 but it is a wonderful and very capable camera for $600 (with a lens). I consider it an $800 camera because I want to be able to use the 1.4 megapixel finder.
Reasons not to buy one: 1. You shoot sports and need super fast autofocus and a very fast frame rate. 2. You rarely see daylight and want a camera that shoots noise free from 3200 ISO up. Nope, this one is not your camera.
Reasons to buy one: 1. The files right out of the camera (as jpegs) are very nice. Rich and accurate color and nice balance of sharpness and contrast. 2. It's a very stealthy package that flies under the radar, masquerading as a point and shoot but fully capable of great results. No one will guess that you're a serious photographer. 3. With adapters there is a very wide range of lenses from other manufacturers that work well with the camera. If you want to try a Nikon or Leica lens for some street shooting this would be the camera to try it with.
The big question I got over and over again in response to my review on my blog was whether this camera has better image quality that the EPL1. No. I find them identical. But the newer screen and newer controls are better.
The HD video is limited to 7 minutes per take but the quality (720) is very good and the camera has full manual controls for every facet. You'll need to buy an Olympus adapter if you want to use external microphones.
Why do I like these cameras? Because they are quick to operate and very, very lightweight. I like to spend hours and hours walking thru city streets shooting and the cameras are light enough to make this an enjoyable thing. Not a job-like task.
Now, on to the finder. I'm old fashioned. I just don't like composing a scene at arm's length. it's a very compromised technique. Olympus makes a great electronic viewfinder that works with all the Pen cameras and also the new xz-1 compact camera. It's a 1.4 megapixel finder. It's very detailed and makes the camera a wonderful tool. I wouldn't consider buying any of the Pens unless I budgeted for the finder as well.
Bottom line? Great camera for the money. Just make sure you are buying it for the right reasons.

Ricoh G700SE Digital Camera with Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Support Review

Ricoh G700SE Digital Camera with Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Support
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This camera is primarily aimed at industries and companies who need photos fast. I have to say that you can still use this as a creative tool just without the RAW built into it. It will handle pretty much anything thrown at it, and it's the only compact out there with a lens that kills any rivals out there with the way it's made. It's a top notch lens, and the camera may be pricey...but it will never break on you from a drop or from rainy days. You can literally take this thing anywhere and shoot in any condition, plus this company updates their firmwares often and has pretty good customer service I've been reading. I haven't had to deal with them yet, so this is a good sign.
