Logitech Refurbished MX Revolution Laser Mouse (Black) Review

Logitech Refurbished MX Revolution Laser Mouse (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
the Refurbished Model does not have the advertised 3 year warranty, it is only 90 days despite what Amazon claims. It broke early, they patched it up and are trying to pass this lemon onto someone else with a short waranty. I picked up one for under thirty and it stopped working right in less than 4 months, right after the waranty ran out. If the extended waranties can be added (and I'm not sure they can on refurbished) it might be worth it, since it was a pretty nice mouse while it worked.

Logitech PS3/PS2 Wireless Drum Controller Review

Logitech PS3/PS2 Wireless Drum Controller
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The first set I got had a lot of trouble with double hits on the cymbals and the occasional cross talk, but I got a replacement shipped to me from Logitech and after playing for a couple of weeks it shows no signs of developing the same problem. Since my set now works well, I've changed my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars.
Pros:
Easy initial setup, takes about 15 minutes.
Adjustable.
Doesn't take up a huge amount of space and can be folded.
Full 5 note lanes in Guitar Hero.
Pads seem pretty durable.
Wireless.
Cons:
Cymbals don't have any vibration dampers like felt, it is hard plastic resting on hard plastic. I've verified using the music studio that I occasionally get double hits and even cross talk (hit the yellow cymbal and the orange goes off as well).
Cymbals have a fixed set of angles, which simplifies setup but limits adjustability.
Louder than Ion Drum Rocker, probably about the same as Guitar Hero World Tour set.
While it is adjustable the compact size limits pad placement. There is only about a extra inch of space between the pads for them to moved side to side. The cymbals have to be in the center, there is not enough space on the bar to move even one cymbal outside the drum pads.
The connecting wires are thinner than I would like, probably not a problem for the pads and cymbals, but might be for the foot pedal, which can easily be dragged when moving the drums.

I use them with my ipod. I did a lot of research before choosing these headphones. I actually tried three different ones. I like that these have a flexible wire between the earphones and they are comfortable to wear. The only down side is I can't move too far from the transmitter. The sound is great though.

Logitech Wireless Digital Bluetooth Headphones for MP3 Players iPods and Computers Review

Logitech Wireless Digital Bluetooth Headphones for MP3 Players iPods and Computers
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally wrote a favorable review for this item because I felt it deserved recognition for seamlessly integrating bluetooth technology with stereo headphones and music players. However, as other reviewers have pointed out, the headband has indeed cracked right down the middle and rendered the device almost unusable.
I am quite surprised that Logitech has put their name on this device. HP even jumped on the bandwagon and has a rebranded version of this same headphone set (released over a year ago) that originally was only for the HP IPAQ--look it up if you don't believe me.
Shame on you Logitech, I love your mice, keyboards, speakers and webcams, but this is utterly disappointing.
Buyer Beware.

Logitech 967562 diNovo Media Desktop Laser Keyboard/Mouse Combo Review

Logitech 967562 diNovo Media Desktop Laser Keyboard/Mouse Combo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this combo for comfort and ease. I don't have any trouble with dropped connection or peeling mouse covers! This is a MEDIA keyboard and should be bought for that purpose or the media pad will go unused. Other then doing some equations once in a while I never use it anymore. I do use the volume controls on the keyboard itself, but once the novelty wears off with the media pad in particular, you just won't use it anymore. One thing I do want to mention is that the white identifying letter, number or symbol have worn off allot of keys on my board making it pretty difficult to identify a key or type if you are not the advanced typist we all would like to be! I, personally, tend to look at the keyboard to type, most of the time, and when the N looks like the M, or, O like the P and so on, it gets very confusing and time consuming to always go back or stop and make the necessary corrections. Other then that, it looks and feels great, and works effortlessly! I have experienced no other problems other then the one I've mentioned. I am overall pleased with the product and it's performance. It also is a VERY quiet keyboard! This to is a big plus not to have the annoying tapping, continuously, whenever you hitting keys! I have severe Carpel Tunnel Syndrome in both hands and not because I want to, but because I have to, I am going to switch and buy the cordless desktop comfort laser with the waved board so there isn't so much stress on the wrist and hands to get in the right position for use. But, I am very please with Logitec's products and their performance. I have always turned to Logitec products to go with a name that I know and trust for a great product!

Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Apple Mac - Black (910-000673) Review

Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Apple Mac - Black (910-000673)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After years of faithful reliance on Apple mice I finally became fed up with the continuing need to clean the scroll ball on my wireless Mighty Mouse just to keep it working properly. But choosing a replacement was no easy task. I read tons of mouse reviews and user comments only to conclude that there's no one perfect mouse. Even after I had narrowed my choice down to the Logitech MX Rev Cordless Laser mouse I kept running across just as many user comments slamming it as I did ones praising it.
Well, I went ahead an bought the MX Rev anyway and am very happy that I did. I got the MX Rev for Apple Mac from Amazon and it has made me regret that I stuck with the Mighty Mouse as long as I did. The MX Rev/Mac works beautifully for me. It took me a few days to decide exactly which configuration best suited my needs, but since then it's been smooth sailing all the way. It's by far the best mouse I've ever had in all my years of computing.

Logitech diNovo Cordless Desktop Review

Logitech diNovo Cordless Desktop
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this cordless set for several days now. Here are my thoughts:
First the bad news. There could be better quality control on this. The first unit I purchased had a right-arrow key that would not work properly (all other keys worked fine). Another reviewer of this model here said that the space bar did not work properly on their unit. I liked everything else so much, I returned mine and got another unit, which is now working properly. The only other negatives I can mention are: (a) the temperature on the numeric keypad ALWAYS reads 77 degrees; (b) the Media key on the numeric keypad always seems to launch the default media player, no matter what I set it to (the media key on the full keyboard works fine).
Now the good news. I love the sleek look and modular design of this set, and it happens to match my HP Pavillion Notebook perfectly. I love the small USB receiver. I love the profile and tactile feel of the flat keyboard. I love the features that let you use this both on a desktop (in my case a docking station) or on the road with your laptop. The mouse is the least sexy of the three main parts, but nevertheless works well and the off switch is a nice feature; its main appeal is that it can be used on the desktop and as a portable laptop mouse. The wireless USB reciever, while small (a good thing), still has a very sufficient range.
All in all, this set has solved a number of problems for me and I strongly recommend it. Just be sure to check ALL the keys, etc. immediately when you get it and exchange it for another unit if any of the keys do not respond.

Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones - Headphones ( behind-the-neck ) - wireless - Bluetooth 2.0 EDR - black
Average Reviews:

So far, the ear loops are stay on my head just fine. Range is about 25 feet or so. Sound quality is excellent - zero static. I have only had mine for a few days, so I cannot address how well they last, but the sound quality is great. It isn't quite what you will get from normal plug-in headphones, but it is more than good enough for general purpose use where you don't want to be tied down by a cord and if you are in any type of a noisy environment you are unluckly to notice the difference.
The only problem I have had so far is they aren't super comfortable. The cushions on them are very thin which would suffice for most headphone, but since they basically are held onto your head by squeezing your head, the pressure combined with the hardness underneath the cushions is uncomfortable. I've tried bending the body wire some to lessen the tension, but even as they approach feeling loose, the hardness of the earpieces is still evidenent through pressure on my ears.
Follow up: several months later, these just quit working. So, I have moved on to motorokr's.

Logitech diNovo Mac Edition Keyboard Review

Logitech diNovo Mac Edition Keyboard
Average Reviews:

I ordered this keyboard and was notified by Amazon that its delivery would be delayed. I went back to review the keyboard again to see if I wanted to cancel or continue the order. After reading a couple of bad reviews I almost cancelled the order. I had previously purchased and returned the Matias Tactial Pro keyboard which truly was unacceptable, and was about ready to forgo anymore mail order keyboard purchases. Fortunately I decided to continue the delivery and try this keyboard for myself. This is by far the best keyboard I have ever used. I have found none of the issues that previous contributers have cited. The F keys are set up in a logical and useful order that all but the most contrarian users would object to. I have been a Mac user for 20 plus years and find that this keyboard lends itself to all everyday requirements and is flexible enough to allow for customization when special requirements are necessary. Also the tactile response is first class.

Logitech diNovo Edge Mac Edition Cordless Keyboard Review

Logitech diNovo Edge Mac Edition Cordless Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While it certainly isn't a cheap keybooard, the diNovo Edge for the the Mac is a beautiful keyboard and will compliment your mac. I used to have a msft bluetooth keyboard that I used and it stuck out like a sore thumb next to my iMac (in addition, it didn't have the Mac specific keys like cmd). Once I got my Edge, all was harmonized in the world again. Only con for this product is that if your keyboard power dies, it takes a few minutes to do a quick recharge. Therefore I try to put the keyboard in the cradle at the end of each week to prevent this from happening.

Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser - Keyboard, keypad - wireless - Bluetooth - mouse - Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB adapter Review

Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser - Keyboard, keypad - wireless - Bluetooth - mouse - Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the first bluetooth system I've ever used, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Installing it could have been easier, (reflected in the ease of use rating) but once it was done I never looked back.
The only glitch for me was getting used to the need to wake the peices up after being away from the computer for a while. Now it's just routine to hit a key on the keyboard and media pad and move the mouse as soon as I get close.
I've had the system for two years now and have had none of the problems mentioned by the other posters. I even take all three peices with me in my laptop bag when I travel between my three offices and I have never experienced a problem. The ergonomics of the keyboard, the quiet short stroke keys and media control are great.
I'm typically at the computer about eight hours a day and yes the media pad goes through batteries the fastest but the 2650 mAh rechargables last three to five weeks on a charge. The keyboard will go for two months on a fully charged set of batteries and the rechargable mouse will usually go about five days.
Like I said in the title the only thing I wish it would do is glow in the dark. I typically work with the lights off and the thinline white letters on the keys are tough to see when I look down from the bright screen.
I liked it so much I bought my wife a Logitech blutooth mouse and keyboard for her desktop. It's not a diNovo but she loves it just like I do mine

Logitech DiNovo Edge Rechargeable Bluetooth Keyboard for Mac Review

Logitech DiNovo Edge Rechargeable Bluetooth Keyboard for Mac
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this to replace the newer Apple keyboard. I was impressed with the build and extra features. However I think the integrated mouse is unnecessary and the device would be much better served with a dedicated number pad. The home, end, page up and page down keys do take a little while to get comfortable with. I'm not a fan of Logitech software and I set up the keyboard without having to install anything in OS X (though I did lose access to the custom function keys). I really liked the key action of the Apple keyboard and found the diNovo only slightly less enjoyable in that respect. Finally I absolutely love the audible feedback when the caps lock key is pressed. If you can get over the price, this is a very nice keyboard.
EDIT: In light of Logitech's newest diNovo keyboard, Logitech diNovo Mac Edition Keyboard, I feel I should adjust my review. Had I known that Logitech would release a diNovo Mac keyboard with a full numeric keypad I wouldn't have been as critical at the lack of said keypad on the diNovo Edge. After 4+ months of use with the Edge, I would still heartily recommend it.

Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones Review

Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
PROS:
1. Works in a nearby room or directly above/below the room with the transmitter.
2. Able to hear outside sounds, if you don't want to be completely isolated from your surroundings.
3. Nice to be able to adjust the volume by touching the shell of the right earpad, which acts as a toggle switch.
4. Comes with a short cord in case the dongle won't fit in your unit's audio jack.
CONS:
1. Sound quality is muddy. If you like rock music, you will not hear much of the cymbals or other high notes. It is fine if you listen to spoken voice. The stock earbuds with the Nano 2G are a little better than the Logitech, but with less bass. My Sony MDR-V6 closed-ear cans sound *exceptionally* good with my 2nd Gen Nano. I'll give the Logitech headphones many additional hours to break in, but I had hoped they would sound much better out of the box.
2. Headband is not adjustable and sits close to your neck. Tilting your head back, even slightly, bumps the headband. Wearing a collared shirt also causes your shirt to contact the headband. The around-the-ear part of the headband takes most of the impact. The earpads will move a little. Some collar brushing comes through to the earpads. I think exercising would not go well.
3. Comfortable on the ears for less than an hour.
4. Little if any difference in bass boost and normal.
5. Comes with 6 iPod interfaces, but the Nano interface does not work with the 2nd Gen Nano. You can still plug the dongle into the headphone jack, but without the end cap for the dongle, there is a 2mm gap.
6. It's just more than twice the width of the Nano 2G. It is also slightly offset, left-to-right when looking at the Nano + dongle from the front.
7. I generally had to try to set the connection twice before it sync'd up. Then I needed to start the player right away, because if I waited 30 seconds, it shut itself off.
I posted a couple of pictures if you click on the link at the top of the page.

Yamaha MusicCAST2 MCX-P200BL Network Music Player 1 - Each, Black Review

Yamaha MusicCAST2 MCX-P200BL Network Music Player 1 - Each, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have 3 Yamaha receivers right now and have owned and sold a couple in the past. I like their receivers and was hoping to play my digital music collection through a Yamaha system. So far they have no come up with a product that meets my requirements.
My requirements are pretty basic. Some of them are met but not all.
1. Ethernet interface (met)
2. Optional wireless interface (met)
3. Play WMA lossless without transcoding (not met)
4. Have a front panel display for selecting music and showing what is being played (not met)*
5. Display more detailed ID3 information on a built-in or TV screen with album art in color (not met)*
6. SPDI/F (optical or coax) output to my Yamaha receiver (not met)
7. Controlled by my Yamaha receiver remote (not met)
8. Priced competitively like many current Yamaha receivers (not met)
Items 4 and 5 are kind of met by the remote (MCX-RC100) but at the extra cost. The MCX-P200 alone is costing more than my current Yamaha receiver that supports HD audio and 4 HDMI 1.3 inputs!
For the combined price of the MCX-P200 and MCX-RC100, one can get the Logical equivalent for much less and with the digital output plus the better format support.
To be fair, I would have to assume the DAC in the MCX-P200/MCX-A300 is the same as the one in my Yamaha receiver but neither supports multi-channel audio other than the stereo plus sub. By the way, how would one wire the MCX-P200 subwoofer output to the existing subwoofer that is connected to the Yamaha receiver?
I prefer not to use the remote for this purpose. I like the media player with a front panel display such as the old Turtle Beach Audiostation or Roku's SoundBridge SB-1000.
Currently, I am using a Dell slim desktop with a Roland USB soundcard as HTPC to play music. It is cheap and functional. The Windows 7 Media Center works well for this purpose. I am still waiting for Yamaha to come up with a media player that meets my requirements.

Logitech MX Revolution - Mouse - laser - wireless - RF - USB wireless receiver - gloss black Review

Logitech MX Revolution - Mouse - laser - wireless - RF - USB wireless receiver - gloss black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I payed about $100 for this mouse ... 4 years ago. Now, after years of dropping it, transporting it, and abusing it, my mouse has finally given out. For the first 3 years, things were great. After that, I noticed the battery life had declined a fair bit; I would have to charge it every day or two, as opposed to the entire week I would get when the mouse was new. I had a few problems with the charger base not recognizing the mouse, but a little lubricant (saliva) was enough to fix the contact points. Then, and this was the last straw, the left-click no longer worked. It would often double click or refuse to click-and-drag when I wanted it too.
I'm now looking around for a new mouse - but I'm not getting this one again. Why? I'm just tired of wireless. In the end, I like being able to use my mouse whenever I want, without having to worry about battery life. When I sit down to do computer work, and I realize that I forgot to put my mouse on the charger last night, it makes me wish I had a wired connection so I could ignore this whole battery issue. Still, the mouse worked wonderfully for 3 years, and sputtered along for another 12 months afterwords. Anyone looking for a solid, wireless mouse would be very wise to consider this as a top contender.

ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM-PU17-RD 10.1-Inch Netbook (Red)
Average Reviews:

I just got my 1015PEM on Friday. I created a USB install of Ubuntu and installed a 2GB DDR3 stick of RAM I had.
I'm running the latest Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick 64 bit beta, and it's fantastic! Everything works buttery smooth and is working right off (for those of you also using Ubuntu/Linux, the wireless drivers use the Broadcom STA drivers, just install via ethernet connection at first)
The keys and palmrests of smooth, not shiny, and extra comfortable to type on. I transitioned from a full-sized Mac keyboard to this little guy and had no problems adjusting.
The speakers are LOUD at full volume, for such a little thing. Far outshine my Acer 3810t with 'Dolby Experience'.
The power supply is superbly small.
I've been able to watch hulu, etc, just fine.
Last but not least, youtube 720p flash is a little jittery, but some updates in the future may fix this (this is after all, linux. Flash runs MUCH faster in Windows). Given that, there's really no need for 720p as the screen's resolution maxes out at 1024 by 600, so 480p looks (and works) just fine.
Finally, the battery life is outstanding :)
No regrets!

Pioneer Electronics Audition Series XW-NAS3 Docking Station for iPod (White) Review

Pioneer Electronics Audition Series XW-NAS3 Docking Station for iPod (White)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
THE GOOD: Charges Ipod/Iphone when on or off. Unobtrusive styling. Dedicated volume controls. Remote control.
Component video out to play videos from your Ipod/Iphone on a television or monitor. Video looks great on HD tv's. Audio in jack for non-ipod music players. Bluetooth adapter to play music remotely. Rich, full sound with a nice sub-woofer (even works for larger rooms).

THE BAD: Larger than many Ipod docks (such as JBL On Stage). Remote control only works when pointed directly at the front of the dock with 30' range. Bluetooth must be manually connected each time. No dedicated Bass/Treble controls (must be performed on the Ipod/Iphone).
BOTTOM LINE: Pioneer's Audition Dock for Ipod/Iphone provides rich, full, room filling sound with great extras like Bluetooth connectivity and video playback on your television.Full Review:
DESIGN:
Sleek black plastic case with dock on top for the Ipod/Iphone and a dedicated sub-woofer underneath.
Although somewhat large in size (about the same as a large loaf of bread), the dock has clean lines and a smooth surface which should blend in well in just about any room.
Power and volume control buttons are on the top and can also be controlled with the included remote control.
Input button switches between the dock, video output, Bluetooth, and aux input. The input button blinks a certain number of times to tell you which mode you are in. Usually, I end up just pressing it until the sound comes out. There are lights on the front of the dock which glow faintly red also telling you which mode you are in (Bluetooth is on the left and slowly blinks telling you to connect).
CONNECTIVITY:
Comes with a large array of connectivity options.
Located at the rear of the dock are connections for Component video out, video out, auxiliary input, and an input for the optional Bluetooth adapter.
All connections are clearly marked and color coded to prevent connection errors.
FEATURES AND PERFORMANCE:
Has 2.1 channel sound which means two speakers and a sub-woofer.
The speakers deliver rich, clear sound with excellent bass and filled a 30'x 30' room sounding much better at high volume than any other Ipod/Iphone dock that I have used. Some speakers sound "buzzy" at high volumes but this one maintained perfect audio fidelity even when turned up all the way.
The music sounded great with a wide variety of music from Van Halen's Eruption to Sheryl Crow's First Cut is the Deepest, or Tribe Called Quest's Award tour. When docked, you can play music from apps like Pandora or Slacker as long as you have WiFi or 3G coverage.
The remote control controls volume, input, and skip/play/pause. The remote control range is 30 feet. Interestingly, the remote only works when pointed directly at the front of the dock. You can be literally right next to the dock and the remote won't work until you point it at the front.
The Bluetooth adapter works well and gives you the ability to play music (including Pandora or Slacker or any other music app) from around 30 feet away. You control the volume with your remote and switch the songs with your Ipod/Iphone. Connecting to the player takes around 10 seconds. Well worth the money for the added flexibility.
The video function works surprisingly well. I tried both the video and component video options with my TV and played movies and TV shows from my Iphone which looked fantastic. Picture quality is as good as regular TV and the sound comes from the Dock (not your TV). I could see this being useful on trips/ travelling or if you have a large collection of videos on your Iphone/Ipod.
The auxiliary input works as expected with other music players including my wife's Blackberry. Doesn't sound as good as when the players are physically docked.BOTTOM LINE:
With the Audition Series XW_NAS3-K Docking Station for iPod (Black) Pioneer Electronics have created a superb Ipod/Iphone dock that delivers rich full sound and delivers the versatility of excellent Bluetooth and video playback. It's well worth the money for its performance, features and build quality.
