Polycom Voicestation 300 Analog Conference Phone Review

Polycom Voicestation 300 Analog Conference Phone

I work from home on a regular basis and this product solved the problem of not having a good solution for conducting conference calls from my home office. As stated in the literature, it doesn't pick up past about 7 feet from the phone but I actually think that is a good thing since any possible background noise (i.e. dog barking in another room) doesn't come across the call and distract the participants. Great phone and great buy. Highly recommended for small conf table or home office use.

Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones Review

Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
PROS:
1. Works in a nearby room or directly above/below the room with the transmitter.
2. Able to hear outside sounds, if you don't want to be completely isolated from your surroundings.
3. Nice to be able to adjust the volume by touching the shell of the right earpad, which acts as a toggle switch.
4. Comes with a short cord in case the dongle won't fit in your unit's audio jack.
CONS:
1. Sound quality is muddy. If you like rock music, you will not hear much of the cymbals or other high notes. It is fine if you listen to spoken voice. The stock earbuds with the Nano 2G are a little better than the Logitech, but with less bass. My Sony MDR-V6 closed-ear cans sound *exceptionally* good with my 2nd Gen Nano. I'll give the Logitech headphones many additional hours to break in, but I had hoped they would sound much better out of the box.
2. Headband is not adjustable and sits close to your neck. Tilting your head back, even slightly, bumps the headband. Wearing a collared shirt also causes your shirt to contact the headband. The around-the-ear part of the headband takes most of the impact. The earpads will move a little. Some collar brushing comes through to the earpads. I think exercising would not go well.
3. Comfortable on the ears for less than an hour.
4. Little if any difference in bass boost and normal.
5. Comes with 6 iPod interfaces, but the Nano interface does not work with the 2nd Gen Nano. You can still plug the dongle into the headphone jack, but without the end cap for the dongle, there is a 2mm gap.
6. It's just more than twice the width of the Nano 2G. It is also slightly offset, left-to-right when looking at the Nano + dongle from the front.
7. I generally had to try to set the connection twice before it sync'd up. Then I needed to start the player right away, because if I waited 30 seconds, it shut itself off.
I posted a couple of pictures if you click on the link at the top of the page.

The receiver works great and sounds fantastic... The USB port hooks into your iPod without a problem and automatically picks up that it's there. You can also control your iPod with the wireless remote which makes life a lot easier if you're across your boat. Everybody who has had a chance to play with the unit has loved it. Overall a fantastic buy for the money.

Samsung B3410EUBLK GSM Quad-Band Unlocked Cell Phone with 2MP camera, Touch Screen, QWERTY Keyboard, MP3 Player, and Bluetooth--International Version with No Warranty (Black) Review

1. The user interface is poorly designed. The configuration settings cannot undo or go back to upper layer, always have to go back to top manual. That means any mistake you make cannot be corrected, and you have to do it again..
2. Contacts font size is too big, touch screen becomes useless, i.e. you cannot move the manual by touching on screen, which is designed for...
3. "Talk" and "Hangup" keys on the top panel are so sensitive, most time when I picked incoming calls, always either picked the calls before checking phone numbers or hung up calls accidentally...
Overall this is a very poorly designed phone. The phone seems having a lot features, for me handling calls
is the most important feature (the reason I am using it) other features just nice to have. Therefore, I would not buy it if user interfaces/Phone buttons are poorly designed.

Pioneer VSX-820-K 5.1 Home Theater Receiver Review

Pioneer VSX-820-K 5.1 Home Theater Receiver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After trying a Denon, and two Yamaha's, I finally hit gold with the Pioneer VSX-820.
This is a superb receiver in all regards. It produces clear crisp sound in all modes.
There are no lip synch issues at all when linked to my HDTV. I had terrible lip synch problems with the Denon. It has all the features I need and more and has an excellent remote that is both intuitive and comprehensive. I use my receiver for CD's, FM radio and my Samsung HDTV. I use DishNetwork for my TV programming.
The VSX series is Pioneer's newest and includes several models all the way up to the 1120.
However, when you read the specs, all these receivers have the same tuner and power plant. The higher the model number, the more numerous the features. But no increase in output.
That makes for an easier buying decision. You don't compromise power for features if you chose a mid range model like the 820 or 920. I noticed that the Denon and Yamaha receivers I tried were made in China. The Pioneers are made in Japan. I'll go with Japan for high quality electronics every time. Pioneer has hit a homerun with this new series of receivers.Update January 20,2011
My accolades now need to be tempered back. As with all 'features', they are only good
as long as they last. The IPOD interface on my VSX 820 died today in mid-song. I reviewed the manual and took the steps recommended, including resetting my IPOD with
no results. The IPOD works just fine. So I will no longer be able to hear my songs
thru my system but will instead have to be satisfied with just using the headphones.
Very disappointed with the lack of durability of this Pioneer receiver.

Brand New JVC Kw-xr610 Double Din Receiver with Front Usb Port and Hd/bluetooth/ipod Ready Review

Brand New JVC Kw-xr610 Double Din Receiver with Front Usb Port and Hd/bluetooth/ipod Ready

I am very happy with my head unit, controls are simple enough, it looks great, it changes colors to match the blue LED's I have in my car, really adding to the theme. It looks classy as well, much better than stock. It does put more power im sure, but I cant tell since I have a 1200 watt amp going as well in my car.
ONLY ONE COMPLAINT....you cant lower the bass for just your speakers, meaning when my subs bump on some songs, the speakers distort, which ruins the music....

Parrot, Inc. Bluetooth Car Kit CK3000 Review

Parrot, Inc. Bluetooth Car Kit CK3000

I installed this system in my Nissan Maxima.
I am using it with a Motorola MPX220 and it works flawlessly. The voice quality coming through the factory speakers is very clear and microphone is very high quality.
The voice dial feature works fine, takes some time to store the voice tags though.
I've had it for over six months and its never failed to sync-up with my phone as soon as I sit in the car. I've got it connected so it mutes the stereo as soon as a call comes in, very cool.
Its a revolutionary product that in my opinion makes driving while using a cell phone much safer. I recommend it.
