(More customer reviews)I absolutely love this digital photo frame! I bought this for my mother who is in a nursing home and has limited space for displaying photos or keeping mementos from the past. For the past week I have been formatting and uploading photos from our side of the family, gathering photos as we can from the past decades. After I am finished, my sister will upload photos from her family... from the past decades. You do have to format the photos to fit the 1024x600 dimensions, and not all look good in those proportions, but 90% look fantastic, with the display being very bright and very clear.
There is more than enough room (2 gigs!) to hold everything, including photos from the early 1920's that we have scanned. You can format and organize everything first on your computer, then with the use of the USB cable connect your computer and the frame and upload everything in minutes. It works like a hard drive, so if you label your folders and photo names appropriately, they will display in the order you want. (Note: I have not yet tried the Sort and Mark functions on the frame. These may do the same, but the proper naming of the files makes everything easier.)
We are having such a good time seeing all these photos that are hidden on our computer and that we never take the time to look at, so we have ordered another frame for ourselves!
My only slightly negative comment is the manual (although I still gave the product a five rating)... whoever wrote it never used the frame, I am sure. Isn't this often the case with technical instructions?! With the help of a friend who is knowledgeable about graphics and photos, and with a trial-and-error approach, I developed a formula to work with. All this formatting information really should have been provided in the handbook.
We hope my mother enjoys this as much as we have. It should be very easy to add photos as needed -- it is just the start-up that takes some work and time.
