Tri Specs Bluetooth MP3 Sunglasses - Wireless Cell Phone Connection and Prescription Compatable, White Review

I bought these glasses a while ago because I liked the styling on them and I read several reviews regarding the sound quality of the earphones and mic. However I wish the reviews that I had read prior to purchasing these glasses had mention the sheer enormity of the COAST CUTTING that has gone into these glasses. The first pair I bought I babied like they were my own children and they lasted 6 months. I got in touch with Trispecs and they, rather generously, replaced them with a second pair. The second pair lasted 2 months before one of the ear phone went quiet and they nearly snapped in half in the middle. This annoyed me so much I gave up. and when I bought these glasses they were $400 not $250. The thing that really gets to me, is the fact that the microphone technology is so amazing in these glasses it ALMOST makes up for the substandard plastics. The chap from Tripsecs said that there are three microphones in the glasses, two over each ear and one in the middle. All three mics have to hear the same noise at the same time otherwise they cancel it out. So if your right mic picks up a noise and the left mic picks up the same noise two milliseconds later it will cancel that noise out!! Now I thought, well that sounds all fancy on paper but does it actually work. I left myself several voice mails on my phone while using the glasses, and stood facing a very loud TV, and when I played back the voice mail, it sounded like i was standing in a sound proof roof talking into the hand piece. I was AMAZED. So then I tried leaving myself a message with my left side facing the same loud tv, and again the results were remarkable!!
Let me try to explain the size of Tripsecs cockup a little better... if the noise canceling system didn't work, I would be trying to give these glasses a NEGATIVE star rather than the 4 I did give them. The glasses you buy at a gas station are better constructed that these glasses!!!
TRISPECS if you're listening; for the love of GOD, PLEASE spend a little more money on the plastics that your making the glasses out of!!! You have the potential to have hands down the best product on the market, but your botching it up by using the plastic they make disposable coffee cup lids out of!!

WACOM CTE450K Black Bamboo Fun Tablet with Pen, Mouse & Graphics Software (NEW) Review

WACOM CTE450K Black Bamboo Fun Tablet with Pen, Mouse and Graphics Software (NEW)

I just got my CTE450K today. It's sold as refurbished but appeared to be brand new to me. It works great! I recently got the latest Bamboo pen tablet and decided to get this one, too, to compare the features and performance (we have more than one computer).
Features this has that the latest Bamboo pen doesn't:
- The mouse. I've read negative comments about the mouse before. I don't know what they mean. I like the mouse a lot. It's comfortable, precise, and it lets me share the same space for the tablet and mouse (more convenient than using a separate conventional mouse).
- The eraser end of the pen. This lets you flip the pen over to erase instead of having to choose the eraser tool in your program and then choose your drawing tool again. Nice to have!
- The touch ring: this lets you scroll and zoom with your finger. It works well, but it's not a huge deal to me.
- The programmable buttons: I really like having buttons to program keystrokes and functions for quick access.
- The included software: this Bamboo Fun includes Photoshop Elements and Painter Essentials (and more). With the latest Bamboo, you get one or the other, depending which model you order.
The tablet works very well, just like the latest Bamboo. The latest Bamboo has a few less features to lower the price (I assume). This previous version has all the features and originally sold at a higher price. But with these refurbished ones, you get the extra features and actually pay less than for the latest Bamboo! I highly recommend these as the way to go compared to the latest Bamboo pen.
(Note: the latest Bamboo comes in versions that support finger touch in addition to the pen functionality. I didn't get one of those, as it didn't seem worth the higher price for what I was going to do with it (artwork and photo editing). My recommendation of this version over the latest applies to the pen-only versions of the latest Bamboo. If you want finger touch (including multi-touch), you'll want to go with the latest (and pay more).)About the size: I debated quite a bit between pads with 4x6 active area and 6x8. This was before trying a tablet. Now that I've used the 4x6 tablets for a while, I'm quite sure it's the perfect size. The 6x8 would have me moving my hand/arm much more than I'd prefer, and it would take up more desk space. There's plenty of resolution in the 4x6 area for all the precision I'll ever need.Great product, great price! I love it, and my kids love it!

Nokia N8 Unlocked GSM Touchscreen Phone Featuring GPS with Voice Navigation and 12 MP Camera--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver/White) Review

What more can I do with it (compared to iPhone or Android):1. Navigate anytime with a fantastic GPS module and free life time navigation (including turn by turn voice navigation with street names, lane guidance, speed limit warning, traffic etc.!!). Go buy crap GPS software for iPhone for a huge price (last time checked was more than 50$) and even then that won't even come close to Nokia navigation. Don't forget Nokia owns Navteq (the worlds largest map producer)
2. Transmit FM and play it on your car music system (iPhone doesn't even have a FM receiver)
3. The best camera (those of u who read the misleading review of endgadget, if u r really reading my review, then u r serious and go ahead to search on google to find zillions of unbiased camera review, comparing N8 even against DSLR)
4. Pentaband network support, which would let you use the phone with both AT&T and T-Mobile 3g network!!
5. Dolby surround sound output
6. USB on the go (which means you could connect your USB device with the phone!)
7. Bluetooth 3.0
8. The only OS that has a very complete bluetooth stack implementation (perhaps too technical for some of the readers) that allows u to even control ur powerpoint presentation with ur cellphone (using salling clicker). The poor iPhone guys, no ur phone doesn't have that functionality (crippled at OS level)
9. The OS that gives superb battery life (anyone using Symbian would testify for this)
10. The freedom that comes with an open OS (OK, Android is also open)
11. The most configurable and complete enterprise wireless stack (trust me, I never ever had any problem to configure my Nokia phones for the most convoluted enterprise wireless network!)
12. A built in completely integrated VOIP support. You won't even notice that u r using VOIP. And trust me, if u know how to use VOIP effectively, u could save a huge amount on your phone bill
13. The ability to work as Bluetooth HSPA modem (or even create Wifi hotspot with third party software)
14. The TRUE TRUE TRUE multi tasking. Yes that's three TRUEs. No one else (including the upcoming Windows Phone 7) supports true multi-tasking. If u ever use Symbian multitasking, u would hate to use others' sham multitasking
15. Many many ... can't list. Feeling tired :( Users are welcome to comment and add additional pros and cons. I am sure there will be Nokia fanboys and iPhone and Android fanboys.
What can't I do (or can't do so well):
1. The UI (yes iPhone and Android have better intuitive UI)
2. I can't fart with my mobile (but I do have all the apps that I would ever need: e.g. call screening software, office software, pdf reader, flash support, email solution, the entire Oxford, cambridge or a host of other dictionaries etc.)
3. Zillions of games that you may avail on iPhone, u may not have on Nokia yet (believe me it's changing fast). BTW, N8 has a faster GPU than iPhone4!
Now some misleading media propaganda:
1. N8 has only 680 MHz processor: Believe me Symbian is by born very efficient. If u ever own a Mac and try to run a Windows 7 in a virtual machine then u know how slow it is. Processor doesn't define speed. I started with a 233MHz pentium processor with 32MB RAM which ran Windows 98 extremely fast with all Office applications, a bunch of productivity apps and a host of games. To give a recent example look at Windows Vista, which runs very slow on the same computer compared to Windows 7 or Mac OS X!
2. N8 has only 256MB RAM: Again u don't need that much RAM. The Symbian^3 has "Writable data paging" which works like virtual memory. And don't forget, Symbian is built from ground up to be battery, memory and processor efficient. No other OS (including Android) claims that feat.
So, in conclusion, if u r looking for a very modern looking user interface, go for iPhone (or Android). But if u r like me who shops for functionality (and who dreams to carry only one gadget (no GPS, no camera, no Apple remote etc.)) then surely u should give N8 a serious thought. And don't let naysayers fool u with usability issues. Believe me, with just couple of days of use, every unintuitive UI would become intuitive (I am a Symbian veteran and it feels very intuitive to me).
