SPRINT SAMSUNG IP-830W CELL PHONE Review

SPRINT SAMSUNG IP-830W CELL PHONE
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While it is a pretty big phone I really don't mind it much because it has so much functionality and I am able to comfortably surf the web and check my web mail and send text messages. The world clock is kinda useless, it doesn't have too many cities listed and I typically don't have it on display. As this has a Microsoft operating system be prepared to reboot about 2x a week on average. Also the VoiceSignal program is really terrible, it never gets my voice command right and is totally useless. Other than that, the sliding keyboard is great and while it's hard to use it with one hand after a while I was able to train myself to do so. The PDF viewer is amazing, very cool application. The battery life is not that great, and the extended battery practically doubles the weight of the phone, so keep a charger with you where you go - of course it was impossible to find a spare charger for this phone and I searched high and low before I found a car charger that was compatible. Overall, its a fun phone and keeps me well connected.

For people who need power and performance wherever they roam, the Samsung IP-830W offers the answer. The 830W world phone uses the Sprint CDMA/EV-DO networks in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and roams on CDMA and/or GSM networks (voice) and GPRS networks (data) outside of North America, making it the ultimate business-class device for mobile professionals.
Into mixing business with pleasure? The 830W has groundbreaking entertainment features. A full color display slides down to reveal an integrated QWERTY keypad, while Bluetooth, and EV-DO wireless broadband keep you on the cutting edge of connectivity. Powered by the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and with support for corporate e-mail accounts, this device is designed for maximum efficiency, wherever you are.
DesignThe 830W follows the standard form factor of the latest Pocket PC devices, with one major addition: a sliding QWERTY keyboard is hidden below the screen. A generous, 240 x 320 full-color touch-screen display dominates the face of the unit. Just below the display is a five-way selection button that allows you to navigate and control the Windows Mobile interface. Meanwhile, shortcut buttons offer quick access to your Outlook calendar, contacts, messaging, Internet Explorer, and more. Alternatively, the device can be directly controlled with an included stylus that slides out of the rear of the 830W's case.
Under the hood, the 830W sports a 520 MHz Bulverde Intel processor with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of embedded flash memory storage. The unit's memory slot supports additional flash-based memory so you can expand for more available storage. The Windows Mobile operating system is completely touch-screen-enabled and features advanced handwriting recognition that is compatible with all of the device's applications. There's a standard stereo 2.5mm headset jack, and USB data and charging is handled by the 830W's docking ports on the bottom of the device. To kick the 830W's audio features up a notch, Samsung has also built a pair of 3D stereo speakers into the unit's case.
Calling FeaturesMany of the 830W's calling features are integrated with the Windows Mobile operating system. For instance, the included Pocket Outlook software features a contacts list that is cleverly integrated with the phone's dialing functions. Meanwhile, the phone's handwriting recognition software can be used to dial numbers and enter contact information. Speaker-independent voice dialing is integrated, too, meaning the phone recognizes spoken contact names and quickly dials them. The 830W's built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear, and polyphonic ringtones are available, as is a vibrating alert. Caller ID and call waiting are also supported. Lastly, the 830W's Bluetooth connectivity makes it easy to sync the unit with a wide range of hands-free, wireless headsets and car kits.
Messaging, Internet, and ToolsThe 830W is designed as a complete mobile office solution, so Internet and messaging capabilities are robust. The unit comes packed with pocket versions of Outlook, Internet Explorer, and MSN Messenger. In addition to keeping track of contacts, Pocket Outlook features integrated calendar and e-mail functions. Microsoft's ActiveSync software keeps the device synced with all of your PC's Outlook information (via USB, infrared, or Bluetooth connection).
Users who want Internet connectivity on the road with their laptop or PDA can tap into the 830W's wireless modem capabilities. Sprint's next generation EV-DO broadband wireless network is compatible with the unit, meaning you can tap into blistering Internet speeds in areas where EV-DO coverage is provided. Meanwhile, the unit fully supports basic text messaging, as well as multimedia messaging (MMS) (Sprint Power Communication charges apply).
A generous toolset ships with the 830W's Windows Mobile 5.0 software. Pocket Outlook includes to-do lists, and pocket versions of Word and Excel are included so you can review and edit documents on the go. A calculator, an alarm clock for times when you're worried you might sleep-in, and a voice memo recorder round out the tools package.
Entertainment The 830W delivers the ultimate music experience. You can store digital music files and easily exchange them with your PC or stream them from the Internet. The included Windows Media Player application can also play videos for even more mobile entertainment.
The 830W's wallpapers and screen savers can be customized to suit your tastes. Windows Mobile and Java-based games are also supported. Samsung has even built in a handy application that allows the 830W's infrared port to control your home entertainment equipment.
Vital Statistics The Samsung IP-830W weighs 6.44 ounces and measures 4.49 x 2.28 x .97 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 2.2 hours of digital talk time and up to 130 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the CDMA 850/1900 and GSM 900/1800 frequencies. Motorola Rokr E8 (Unlocked, Intl. Version) no U.S. Warranty Review

Motorola Rokr E8 (Unlocked, Intl. Version) no U.S. Warranty
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had this phone for about 4 months now and I have to say that I really like it. The look of the phone is really appealing, and the interface is really quite new and different. Navigation is pretty smooth and intuitive (when it isn't lagging, more on that later) and I love the way the keys change depending on what mode your in. Call quality is crisp and loud. The display is very good quality and album images and text appear clear and sharp. The mp3 player on this phone is one of the best I've heard. I connect it to my car stereo and, as far as audio is concerned, it even blows away the Creative Zen I had before. Even the built in speakers are pretty good and don't sound as hollow and tiny as other phones.
Now for the bad. The reason I only gave this phone 3 stars is because of two pretty big issues. The first is the 2mp camera. For 2megapixels this produces some awuful shots. The colors are washed out, blurry, and grainy no matter what light you're in. Even the 1.3mp camera on my TMobile Dash took better pictures. Much much better pictures. The other issue is this ... the phone has 2GB of built in memory, but beware of using it to store songs. The built in memory is touchy at best. Some songs transferred to the phone mem just flat out wouldn't work. On top of that, putting songs on the phone memory causes the phone to experience some serious lagging. And it can get pretty bad, even hanging and lagging during calls. Forget calling any company that asks you to hit a series of mumbers to get to the right department, and punching in something like an account # is a nightmare. The only reason I didn't mark off heavily for this feature is because if you put songs on the micro sd only this seems to solve the problem. But you do have to set the phone to keep the phone memory seperate from the memory card. If it shares then it's the same issue.
So, a good mp3 phone, cool interface, but bad pictures and make sure you upgrade the free 1gb micro sd stick because the 2GB on the phone is pretty useless. Maybe a firmware upgrade will fix that later.

LG Rumor 2 Phone, Blue (Sprint) Review

LG Rumor 2 Phone, Blue (Sprint)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
for a free phone, (the deal I got when I bought it) it ain't bad - texting is AMAZING!!! I can type SO much faster and with such ease!!! I've got bigger thumbs, too,...so that's really say'n someth'n.
don't get this if you use GPS very much, tho....that feature came to a screeching halt - the phone itself just doesn't have enough memory to recalculate after taking a wrong turn - it'll literally take minutes to recalculate a route. pictures're fine, but I miss the flash from my previous phone.
also, the media player isn't all that great,....you can make folders on the micro SD card, but it won''t recognize 'em, jumbling all your songs of different cd's and genres in to one big blop of music.
so, for a simple, phone, it's a good one, just don't expect to excel at much more than normal phone would - call'n and text'n.

Motorola V197 Unlocked Phone with Quad-Band GSM and Bluetooth--International Version (Charcoal) Review

Motorola V197 Unlocked Phone with Quad-Band GSM and Bluetooth--International Version (Charcoal)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted a phone that had good battery life, a reasonable form factor and was dependable; I have a camera and mp3 player, so I don't need them on my phone as well. My previous phone was a terrific Sony Ericsson W810, but lost the battle with the washing machine...The unlocked Motorola V197 set up with no problems with my ATT sim card and connected easily with Motorola Bluetooth. I have had no problems and the battery life is very, very good, as is the reception. If you want a phone that is simply a phone, I can highly recommend this one.

Motorola RAZR2 V8 Unlocked Phone with 2 MP Camera, and MP3/Video Player--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Pearl Grey) Review

Motorola RAZR2 V8 Unlocked Phone with 2 MP Camera, and MP3/Video Player--International Version with No Warranty (Dark Pearl Grey)
Average Reviews:

I bought this to replace my wife's Sony slider. She really loved her RAZR and never warmed up to the slider. I did a ton of research and this phone has great reviews from everyone. I initiall ordered it from Cellular Blowout. What a nightmare. The order was cancelled, thank God. I wised up and ordered through Amazon. Fast and dependable as always.
The phone came in an impressive package. We slid in the AT&T sim card and it worked instantly. Not all the contacts moved over, but not a big deal. Paired with bluetooth effortlessly. The call quality is top notch. A lot more bells and whistles but my wife will never use them.
The bottom line. Same great RAZR. Much better built quality. Improved sound. 2 giant screens. You cannot go wrong with this phone. You get what you paid for.

After creating a gadget/fashion icon in the original MOTORAZR, Motorola has upped the ante with the new RAZR2 V8 with cutting edge technology and enhanced features that make it even easier to use. It features 512 MB of internal flash memory, quad-band GSM connectivity for roaming the globe, and quick downloads via the EDGE data network. It's fully loaded with an arsenal of digital tools, including a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder, Bluetooth connectivity for streaming music and photo printing, dual color LCD screens, e-mail access, digital audio player, and full duplex speakerphone. This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.
Phone Features Designed to be even sharper than before, the RAZR2 V8 shaves two millimeters from the original MOTORAZR. Its one-piece housing has no parting lines (meaning fewer chances of break points) and the cast aluminum hinge underwent more than 100,000 lab tests to ensure durability. Even the exterior camera lens is stronger, as it is made with chemically hardened glass. Despite its slimmer profile, the RAZR2 V8 offers enhanced dual screens that make the phone seem larger. The 2.2-inch internal screen offers twice the resolution of the original MOTORAZR while the 2-inch external screen is great for checking caller photo ID, easily reading incoming text messages, and controlling music playback through onscreen controls. CrystalTalk Technology: This innovative feature automatically accounts for background noise during a call and adjusts the audio quality based on ambient noise conditions to provide the optimal conversational experience. CrystalTalk also reduces the volume of the background noise picked up by the microphone during a call, making it possible to be more easily heard over the phone while in a noisy environment.
Talk to Me: Originally designed to address the needs of those with vision impairment, the RAZR2 V8 is able to read the phone's interactive menus, contacts, messages and more aloud--adding convenience to your on-the-go lifestyle. SMS messages on the phone can be read and replied to with pre-programmed text messages without ever having to open up the flip.
Haptics: Motorola has incorporated breakthrough haptics technology--an interface that creates tactile feedback--that provides vibrating feedback in response to your finger taps. When combined with the virtual music keys, the haptics technology helps you to effortlessly control music playback.

The 2-megapixel camera includes an 8x digital zoom and it can automatically snap up to eight new pictures--letting you choose the best image from a complete series of pictures. You can even print photos wirelessly to a Bluetooth-compatible printer with just a few menu selections. It provides four resolution choices (from 320 x 240 to 1600 x 1200 pixels) and also features a self-timer, free memory space indicator, color effects, night mode for low-light shots, and five shutter sounds (with a silent mode).

You can record video for as long as you have available space on the internal memory.
With its internal 512 MB of storage (though no MicroSD expansion), the RAZR2 V8 can store up to 1000 of your favorite songs. It offers compatibility with Microsoft Windows Media Player 11, enabling easy synchronization and transfer between phone and PC. You'll be able to modify music playback with the flip closed thanks to the virtual contextual music controls that appear on the external screen. And you can keep playing music even while surfing the web, sending text messages, or even using the camera.
This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity with EDR (enhanced data rate), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and audio/video remote control. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.
The RAZR2 V8 features a full HTML browser (Opera 8.5) that takes advantage of high-speed wireless data connections for faster, bigger and richer web surfing experience. Sony Ericsson W880i Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, 3G, MP3/Video Player, Memory Stick Pro Duo Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Steel Silver) Review

Sony Ericsson W880i Unlocked Cell Phone with 2 MP Camera, 3G, MP3/Video Player, Memory Stick Pro Duo Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Steel Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Provided that you're not into PDAs and if you can do without an FM Radio, Sony Ericsson W880i is more than enough meet your savvy. Its stylish design and seemingly incomparable range of features all in a compact phone, would please any gadget fan, music afficionado or even fashionista. This phone is all that and a whole lot more.
Packed with the Walkman 2.0 software and a 1 Gig Memory Stick Micro M2, you can just imagine the amount of music you can store with this phone. The firmware supports up to an 8 Gig expansion should the M2 be available in that capacity already in the future. This phone also supports A2DP Bluetooth Stereo headset profile which means this is completely compatible with any device like the Sony Ericsson A2DP Bluetooth Stereo receiver (MBR-100) or the Sony DR-BT30Q Bluetooth Stereo headset which I prefer to use with it.
Other than that just like it's predecessors, it comes with 2.0 Megapixel camera. This should be sufficient for day to day use although should you opt for a camera phone with a higher resolution, this phone is not for you.
The screen resolution is a compact version of the W900 series so the display is really crisp and clear. The screen resolution is higher than the W800i or even the W810i.
Only setback might be for people with big hands. The keypad would not be appropriate for them. This phone would be very difficult for them to use.
Lastly, this phone comes with 3G and a VGA camera for video calls. The last feature not only seals the sweet deal, but you would never find another phone out there in such a compact state with all these features which can literally fit in your left shirt pocket.

The Sony Ericsson W800 and W810 were huge hits. Now, here comes another sequel, this time thinner and better than ever, the W880i. All the same great Walkman features are here, along with robust phone functions, but now you get a super-slim .40-inch form factor encased in stainless steel, Walkman 2.0 software, support for up to 900 music tracks, 3G UMTS capability, and more. Other features include a 2.0-megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, an M2 Memory Stick card slot, Bluetooth, push email, an Access NetFront Web browser, a speakerphone, Macromedia Flash Lite 2.0 for interactive user experiences with video, audio, and graphics, and more. Simply put, this baby's loaded.
DesignThe W880i follows a long tradition of beautifully designed and crafted phones from Sony Ericsson. The same candy-bar style that graced the W800 is here, as is the horizontally-oriented camera unit on the back of the phone, allowing you to hold the phone just as you would a camera when you're taking pictures. The W880i's screen sports 240 x 320 pixel resolution with support for over 262,000 colors. Quick access buttons below the screen make it easy to control the phone's Walkman music features, while a five-way center button controls most of the phone's menus and features. The W880i contains 16 MB of embedded memory, but as mentioned, an M2 Memory Stick slot is provided, giving you storage capacities of 2 GB and beyond. USB and Bluetooth data connectivity is provided, and the phone supports USB mass storage so you can simply plug the phone into your computer and drag and drop files into the phone's memory using the included Disc2Phone PC application.
Calling FeaturesThe W880i's phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts with multiple entries per contact. A call list remembers your most recent missed, received, and dialed calls. The phone's voice activated dialing makes calling your contacts as easy as saying their names, while the built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Polyphonic ringtones are included and you can also use MP3 and AAC music files as ringtones. A cool application called Music DJ even lets you mix your own ringtones. Meanwhile, picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers. For those times you want to keep things discreet, there's a vibrate ringer mode. And because the W880i is Bluetooth-enabled, you can use a variety of headsets and handsfree kits for total wireless freedom when you're on the go.
And because the W880i is 3G enabled, you can use it as a video phone. During a video call, you can see a live video stream of the person you're talking to and they can see you. The third generation of mobile networks brings the convenience of broadband Internet to your mobile phone. Fast data transfer speeds--up to 384 kbps--give you quick and easy access to a new world of video calls, audio and video streaming, Web surfing, multimedia messaging, and email wherever you go.
Messaging, Internet, and ToolsIf you're looking for a mobile productivity partner, the W880i has you covered. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, and sound via MMS messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging possibilities. The phone also ships with a built-in email client with support for POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols, while the included Access NetFront Web browser allows you to surf full HTML web sites. Push email is also supported, allowing you to have instant email on your mobile phone, just like on your home computer. Messages are sent directly to your phone as soon as they arrive. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
The W880i also supports RSS feeds, allowing you to use your phone to view up-to-the-minute news and other content from selected Web sites and blogs. Just subscribe to the feed and let it come to you.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the W880i, as it supports the GPRS protocol, as well as the high speed 3G UMTS data protocol. When used with your carrier data plan and the phone's Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the W880i, including a voice memo recorder, a to-do list, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. The phone also supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, which lets you synchronize your PC-based calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with your W880i.
As mentioned before, because the W880i is 3G enabled, giving you a whole new world of media possibilities. Your 3G phone has an "always on" Internet connection with high-speed data transfer. This gives you a fuller mobile Internet experience, making it practical to access large files or use complex remote services, no matter where you are. On 3G networks, the W880i can double as a media player for streaming movie trailers, the latest sports news, music videos, and more. Choose the news and entertainment you want, and have it delivered straight to your mobile phone.
Imaging and Entertainment The W880i is a Walkman phone, and that means it offers a great mobile music experience. Load up your favorite songs in MP3 or AAC format on a memory card and listen to your heart's content. The user-friendly Walkman 2.0 music player application also includes a "Music Mode" that shuts down the phone functions so you can listen on an airplane or anytime you don't want to accept calls. Meanwhile, Digital Mega Bass and stereo widening combine to enhance your listening experience.
And don't forget about that powerful 2.0-megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom. Finally, you can get consistently great shots that rival the quality of a dedicated digital camera. The camera can capture video, too. Dedicated camera controls on the side of the unit will make you forget you're holding a phone in your hand. There's even an included application called Video DJ that allows you to edit video footage right on your phone. Make it look great with advanced editing options before uploading footage to your blog.

I recently upgraded my sidekick from an ID to the new LX, and couldn't be more pleased. There were many things about the ID that frustrated me, such as a lack of camera and poor screen quality. The LX has a crystal clear sceen and a pretty good camera, considering it is still a phone. Of course the LX is pricey, but you will get what you pay for. I'm a sidekick girl at heart, and this was a great buy.

Need one gadget to do it all? The Motorola A1200 "Ming" phone is the answer. This Linux-powered PDA phone sports a 2-megapixel camera, a huge display, quad band support, plus all the bells and whistles you'd expect on a high-end handset, including Bluetooth, a music player, a document reader, and much more. And when you want to get down to business, there's even a business card reader for rapidly capturing contact info.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.
Design The first thing you'll notice about the Ming is that its design is definitely groundbreaking. While the transparent cover might look cool, it also serves a purpose, as the phone's speaker is cleverly embedded in the cover. Flip the phone open and you're greeted by a huge 2.4-inch touchscreen that sports 240 x 320 resolution and support for 262,000 colors. There's also an included stylus so you can control the unit's onscreen menus and functions. And speaking of menus and functions, the Ming's operating system offers an easy-to-use, Linux-based interface that makes navigating between entertainment, contact, document and other functions a breeze. You'll also find two control buttons, as well as a navigation joystick, below the display.
The Ming also supports MicroSD card expandability, which allows you to add up to 2 GB of extra storage to the device -- plenty of room for games, movies, and documents. There's a standard 2.5 mm headset jack, and a built-in mini-USB connector makes it easy to connect the Ming to your computer or other devices. Bluetooth wireless technology lets talk freely on a wireless headset or sync up seamlessly with your PC and other compatible Bluetooth devices. You can even print your favorite pictures wirelessly with the Ming's Bluetooth printing capability.
Calling Features The Ming has all the latest calling features folks have come to expect from a high-end handset. The built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. As mentioned, the phone's Bluetooth connectivity means that your favorite Bluetooth headset is fully compatible. Plus, you can connect a stereo Bluetooth wireless headset and listen to your favorite music without any wires. Meanwhile, the ringer and picture ID system makes it easy to identify your most common callers. And last but not least, a vibrate mode allows you to receive calls in silence.
Messaging, Internet, and PDA Tools The Ming covers the messaging bases with support for text and MMS messaging, as well as IM-based communications with MSN Messenger. There's also a complete email client that allows you to receive and view PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint attachments. The email client supports POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols. An integrated browser lets you view complete HTML pages or surf the wireless Web via WAP 2.0.
On the PDA front, the Ming comes with a powerful calendar and contacts system that makes it easy to stay in touch with your important contacts while organizing your schedule. And because the Ming supports the SyncML synchronization standard, you can easily sync your PC-based contacts and schedule with the Ming's personal information management system. Other tools include an integrated business card scanner, a calculator, an alarm, a voice memo recorder, and a to-do list. You can use the Ming's advanced handwriting recognition to quickly and accurately enter information.
Entertainment The Ming's 2-megapixel camera features a macro mode for getting great closeups. You can also capture video clips; capture length is limited to a staggering two hours. Use the built-in RealPlayer application to view your videos, as well as videos you've got stored on a memory card. The integrated music player supports MP3, WAV, AMR, WMA, and AAC+ digital music formats. There's also a stereo FM radio.

Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5 Unlocked Phone with 5 MP Camera, Wi-Fi, MP3 Player, and MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Graphite Gray)
Average Reviews:

The phone part's great. Motorola's been making communications equipment for years, and their experience shows. The Crystal Talk feature work like a charm. I could be heard talking while standing under an elevated train rattling overhead. By comparison, try an iPhone, whose phone portion is on par with phones I owned in the '80s.
And the Kodak camera works amazingly well. The Night Mode gets surprisingly good results at very low light levels. And in daylight, the pictures are on par with what I've gotten from small digital cameras. Very impressed with that as well.
The device itself is quite nice. Well put together, totally solid construction. Nice materials. A pleasure to handle.
The downside is that the software is a pain. Different parts of the device seem to have been put together by different developers. And navigating around between different parts of the phone is baffling. But slowly, I'm getting used to it and I've gotten the Bluetooth to my computer (to download photos - great feature) to work after lots of trial and error.
Overall, the two key parts of this phone are excellent. It's just the overall integration that's not up to standard. Net result: I'm pleased.

So far so good.
Getting an unlocked phone has a lot of perks, this is a really nice music and movie player, I downloaded some dvds onto my computer, edited them with a free video to cellphone program, so really this does almost everything the $300.00 phones do, just for much much less.
So far, music player is great, videos are great, call quality is clear the only very small down side I can see right now is its slightly smaller than an iphone, so it will not fit any cell phone holster without padding, kinda annoying but other than that, you won't regret buying this phone.

Phone Labs DNTA100 Dock-N-Talk Cell Phone Docking Station Review

Phone Labs DNTA100 Dock-N-Talk Cell Phone Docking Station
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First the cautions:
1)It feels a bit cheaply made. I got the Bluetooth adapter and the connection is a bit flimsy and easy to knock loose. Better plan on putting this someplace where it can't be bumped. I put mine in the phone system closet.
2)It can't go inline with your normal phone system, it must use a separate phone or a separate line into your phone system. If you have a PBX or a multi-line phones with one inbound line available you are in great shape, just use L2 (Line 2) on the dock-N-talk along with a splitter. The manual explains this well.
All that aside, I love this device ! I can now come home, set my Bluetooth phone on the table where I come in and it automatically connects to the dock and all cell phone calls now ring on my home phone system. No more missed calls because I didn't hear the cell phone from another part of the house and no broken bones as I try to run madly to the cell phone to answer it in time. In the extreme you could even dump your land lines and go 100% cell but still have the benefits of you home phones (just be sure you have good cell signal). It is nice to see progress being made in integrating all the electronics doodads in our lives to make things better rather than worse.
The installation was easy and if you are familiar with pairing your Bluetooth device and enabling the hands free function you should be able to get this up and running in just a few minutes.
Note: There are a lot of cell phone cables and a Bluetooth adapter available for this device but I can't seem to find them listed at Amazon. Try going to the manufacturer's site (phonelabs.com) for these accessories.

When I saw this phone I just had to have it.This phone is seriously overpriced but there are some places where you can get a good deal. This type of phone only works with T-Mobile & At&T but be careful and check with At&t before purchasing. I have T-mobile and the phone works great. The camera on this phone is pretty good and the phone is visually stunning. This phone besides its look is pretty basic though no bells & whistles, so if thats what your looking for this is not the phone for you but if your like me and just want something to talk, text on that looks cute this is it.

I love my new Treo Pro. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and already plan to hold on to it for the long haul. Little, history, I have had the Origional Treo, 200, 600, and 650. This is the best of them all. I swtiched two windows mobile 2 years ago because... well the PALM OS is dead in my book. That aside, I really missed the treo. I think palm gets how to build a nice device.
Keyboard: Works great. I find for a thumb keyboard and now with some experience I can fly with it. Personally, I love the thumb keyboard. Perfect for one handed operation with little compromise.
Thin: This thing fits very nicely into the pocket and the screen guard is excellent. I dont even know I have it with me and I never accidently Dial anyone. It fits in the hand wonderfully.
Buttons.. Some devices are going away from having so many buttons. However I like the ability to launch frequent programs. The Pro is great at letting you customize. (You have many hardware buttons and some of them can also be configured to have an Option + Hardware button application bound to them)
Also, you have hardware button access to volume control and wifi.
GPS: Works great. I installed and worked right away.
Power: this device is not a power pig. With normal use I get a good run off it. Mind you, I use applications on it all day along and SMS extensively.
Camera: I havent used it. Frankly, it doesnt matter how many mega pixels any phone has, it still just a phone camera. Quality is never that good. But it is good enough for those fun quick shots.
Dislikes: well, the screen is a standard windows mobile device screen. I was hoping for a new device, especially manufactured by HTC it would have a bit more kick to it. However, its very functional and does what I want. One thing I love is how they built into the keyboard access to the brightness control. This is something all devices should have. Its really hard to increase the brightness if you can read the screen. No problem with the treo.
The ALT key on the keyboard allows you to access characters not on the keyboard, including accented letters for various languages. What I dont like is that its a little window that shows up with about 8 characters show and you scroll to see more. Well there are a lot of characters, it would be better if they just filled the screen so you can quickly find the special character you want.
Windows Mobile Phone Dialer stinks! This is true in my opinion for any windows mobile device. Its a phone, but you have to navigate often 2 to 3 screens deep just to get a phone number. For example, you start typing someones name and the dialer appears. It instantly starts searching for a name. Great! When you select a name by pressing enter, it pulls up their contact screen. (HUH???) yes, you now get to see more info about them. I just want to DIAL the phone number. Long story short, for simple dialing its more complicated than it needs to be. Second, the Windows Mobile phone dialer always seems unresponsive and slow. Its a phone... but the phone is slow. it makes no sense. This is not a critisim against the treo, but if this your first Windows Mobile device you will be a bit disappointed with this.
My Final gripe is that it uses the Micro USB Cable. I dont know why. All I can say is that about 90% of my small electronic gizmos use Mini usb and now I have a new cable standard to deal with. I am sure there is some value to it, but I dont see it. Yes, the connector is smaller, but the cable is still just as thick and just as long. So why I need a thinner (by maybe a few hair widths) I dont know.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Click Buy Great device.

Blackberry 7100G GSM Phone ATT Rogers T-Mobile UNLOCKED Review

Blackberry 7100G GSM Phone ATT Rogers T-Mobile UNLOCKED
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm part of the market RIM targeted for this phone - people who really didn't want to carry that blocky blue thing and wanted something a bit more phone-like. Looking around the building, I think they're succeeding, but wow, what a terrible phone.
Physically: the phone is light - it also feels flimsy and the casing feels fake. I've already dropped it a few times (par for the course for me in general), and it's survived, but I feel like a stiff wind causes some risk. The screen is already scratching, though slightly and unobtrusively.
Blackberry-like features: I also won't extol the virtues of the Blackberry - either you get it or you don't - except to say that Outlook/Exchange integration is excellent, the best Calendar integration, in particular, that I've seen. I don't know why the Contacts don't sync wirelessly, which for me isn't much of a problem but may be more difficult for others. I get emails to my Blackberry faster than they appear in my Outlook. Level 1 messaging, which isn't defined absolutely anywhere for the customer, is a great feature. I cannot comprehend why you can't default the mailbox to your inbox, rather than the everything-you-do-box, but c'est la vie.
Much gnashing of teeth about the keyboard. I can empathize, but having never used the normal Blackberry keyboard, I can't compare. I don't love SureType - it doesn't pick up new words well, and I'd like some autocomplete - but it's fine. My bigger problem with the keyboard is I mistype all the time, and I have small fingers. Not sure what happens to the larger-digited among us.
My real complaint, though, is that the basic functionality of a phone is _painful_. I ask very little from a cell phone: mostly, I want quick access to the address book, so I can find names when I'm at a traffic light or walking, and I want to do it without looking at the screen very much. In this, the Blackberry fails miserably. I have to turn this dial and click that and type lots of letters and then turn the dial again. Makes me want to throw the thing out the window. This is not a hard problem - every manufacturer has solved it! - RIM could do so too.
I want easy-to-lookup Contacts (one problem with the Contact Outlook integration is I don't have names like "Joe" and "Mom" and "Home" in my contacts), but I concede the problem there, though it's solvable.
I'm getting mixed results on the reception, either with the phone held to my face or with the included headset.
So yeah, I'd buy it again, but I'd hold my nose.

The BlackBerry 7100g is the first of its kind-- a fully-featured mobile phone that delivers the power of BlackBerry e-mail. This is one sweet little handset, loaded with all of the cool features you want, like integrated Bluetooth connectivity, speakerphone, and downloadable ringtones. Plus, surf the Web the way it was meant to be surfed with an ultra-large, high-resolution color screen.
Design Design-wise, the BlackBerry 7100g is a departure from the form factor of previous BlackBerry devices. This BlackBerry handset is far more phone-like, and RIM's engineers have managed to fit a QWERTY keyboard onto the handset's slim frame. Each button on the keyboard shares two letters and the unit automatically determines which letter is the intended one based on what it predicts you are trying to spell. This unique predictive text technology, known as SureType, enables the BlackBerry 7100g's diminutive size. SureType also learns the words you use most often, further enhancing your typing speed.
The BlackBerry 7100g sports a large 240 x 260 screen that displays over 65,000 colors-- plenty of real estate to view your emails, web browser content, messaging sessions and attachments. The venerable BlackBerry trackwheel is located on the right side of the unit for quick scrolling through menus and emails. A speakerphone is housed in the top portion of the rear of the handset, just above the removable battery door. There's also a standard 2.5mm headset jack that can be used with the included headset.
Calling FeaturesAll the calling capabilities folks have come to expect in a wireless phone are present in the BlackBerry 7100g. As mentioned, the handset's speakerphone makes it easy to use the device handsfree, or if you prefer, use a wireless headset via the BlackBerry 7100g's built-in Bluetooth capability. A vibrating alert, speed dial, and a contacts list/address book that is limited only by the unit's 32 MB of internal memory, are also included. Any of the phone's 32 included polyphonic ringtones can be used to create caller-specific ringers so you can know who's calling without having to look at the handset. More ringtones are available from Cingular's MEdia mobile web service.
Messaging, Internet and ToolsWhile the BlackBerry 7100g is a different kind of BlackBerry device, it's still delivers the legendary BlackBerry email experience. With BlackBerry service plans from Cingular, you can receive emails instantaneously from up to 10 email accounts (personal and enterprise). With BlackBerry push technology, you don't need to retrieve your email. Instead, BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, allowing you to be discreetly notified as new email arrives. Support is also built-in for viewing email attachments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, and PDF formats).
If your company has a BlackBerry Enterprise Server installed, you can take advantage of the power of wireless calendar synchronization. Your calendar events are exchanged wirelessly and automatically so that your desktop calendar and BlackBerry handheld calendar are synchronized. All your Outlook meeting requests, changes, and updates are instantaneously synchronized instantaneously with your desktop. Make meeting requests, invite new attendees and more, all on your BlackBerry 7100g. Users without BlackBerry Enterprise Server support can manually sync with their desktop calendars and contacts via Bluetooth or USB using the included BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Use the BlackBerry 7100g handset's Web browser to access the Internet from the palm of your hand. Browse Web sites, get up-to-date stock quotes, read the latest news, check weather reports and more. Instant messaging and wireless messaging are also built into the BlackBerry 7100g. The handset supports AOL, Yahoo and ICQ instant messaging, as well as SMS text messaging. MMS messages can be received and forwarded.
The BlackBerry 7100g ships with a number of tools, including a calculator with a unit converter and a to-do list. The handset supports Java application and game downloads (available via the MEdia Net service). One game, BrickBreaker, is included.
Vital Statistics The BlackBerry 7100g weighs 4.30 ounces and measures 4.70 x 2.30 x 0.8 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 4 hours of digital talk time, and up to 8 days of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.
