I just installed my new Pyle few days ago, so i do not have a deep review, but i will give you my feed back so far.
The good.
* Well done, i mean, looks really god (does not look cheap).
* Nice image crisp and clear. Some quick access options for bright or dark days, and a complete set up menu to configure it.
* Good sound, a lot of output wiring options, including two rear video outputs, so you will upgrade your video with two more monitors if you like, without extra accesories.
* Wire harness included... in my case, Pyle included a harness that match my car connectors, so great bonus. Easy to mount, and easy to connect (by pass) the parking brake wire.
* USB and SD Card options.
* Plays the most common audio and video formats, including Divx for video and Windows media for songs.
The bad:
* The screen blocks the middle air conditioning vents, so most of the time the screen is inside (i live in a very hot place). That is why you really depends of the remote. One basic operation like forward or backward is not available on the panel. So, the only way to get it is with the screen or the remote.
* There is a "beep" any time you use the volume control... annoying thing, because is a loud beep for any point of volume, i mean, increase from 10 to 18 is 8 loud beeps.
* The source is controlled by one button. The control does not have a button for each source mode to play it fast, so you will need to push that button until you find the right source.
* Cooling fan sometimes very loud.
* The touch screen performance is not the best... difficult to set time or find the right song in the menu. Sometimes you need the remote to run the close menu lines.
So far, i think is a very good choice (Price Vs. Benefits). I made an upgrade on my Car sound system, because i use to have just a basic Cd Player, and now i have a lot of choices to run with this unit. I already ordered an additional 7" screen to maintain my kid busy in long trips.
I am very happy with this equipment and i will recommend you considering the bad items mentioned (not to bad, but annoying sometimes).

I have lived with this unit for about 6 months or so now. and all I can say is avoid Boss like a plague! The touchscreen gets washed out by any sunlight (yes even with tinted windows). The display has many gremlins, sometimes when you first cut on the car you get a blue and white lines across the whole screen that can only be cured by cutting the car off and then back on, no just cutting off the radio or closing and reopening the screen wont work. Then when it does work just drive down the road on a hot day, then the screen turns orange or red, all you see are numbers but no words.
Ok, now the remote! big and thin with buttons that are all spaced apart the same. You cant reference any point on the remote so that you can use it without looking at it. You have to look first before you take off and then keep your finger at your reference point which for me was the volume, from there you could go up for forwarding the cd to the next track. The remote by itself will make you wish you had looked and thought about this purchase more.
The Sound, well I was able to get the music to sound good, but ReeeeeeeeReeeeeer to the beat of the excellerator had me digging for problems for the whole time I had the unit installed. The unit is just plain cheap with terrible noise filters, I finally solved the problem with a new deck from a more reputable company (ends with wood). Oh and dont let me forget when you turned off the cd player you could hear crosstalk from the radio, when you turned it all the way down you could hear the radio along with the whining screeeeeereeeeee noises.
Outputs, well the sub only had one RCA output that caused problems with my multi amp setup. i had to make one output lead over to 2 amps, by the time the signal split 4 ways there was nothing left but low out put, high noise. it sounded like trash. The front and rear had seperate left and right outputs so they where ok.
The interface, using this monstrosity on a daily basis wasnt that bad not a deal breaker but the fact that most cd controls are done on the touchscreen that didnt light up properly made it impossible to use on most days.
Bottom line is that if you dont have money for better now then blowing a couple of hundred on this thing is only gonna set you back further from a real radio! Don't waste you time or your money. My lower cost non dvd unit from a better brand (ends with wood), blew this away within one minute of install. The unit from the reputable company didn't have the noise, did have the dual sub out puts that let my amps get what they needed to vibrate my car agian. Now I can turn down the volume all the way and guess what I get? nothing! no noise, no radio talk show, no reeeeee!
Dont do Boss!
I've been installing my own gear since 1977, I have one four channel amp running front and rear, two 2 channel amps running one sub each. With this radio I had to add a cross over since they didnt build one into the deck. I have 5600 peak watts conservatively speaking i would call it 110 rms to the fronts and rears and about 500 rms from each sub amp bridged. yesterday with the boss i was ashamed to show my friends, tomorrow with the wood I'll be ridin down on'em HARD!

Great head unit! I bought this to replace an Eclipse AV8132 that recently got destroyed. This unit is much more intuitive and easy to use, far more versatile with the number of inputs and seems to be a much higher quality product to boot. Everything is set up to be as easy to use as possible. Flash memory and iPod control are plug-and-play. It simply couldn't be any easier! The only reason this got 4 stars rather than 5 is because it only has 2 sets of outputs. One more pair and this unit would be perfect!

Great looking stereo. Lots of great features as stated in the ad. I am going to cut to the chase and give my negetative feedback. The things that are NOT stated in the ad. 1. Do not loose the remote because you cannot advance your CD playing music / DVD Play / SD Card / USB Input without it. 2. Before I bought it, I had searched for the max size SD card it could hold. I could not find it so it turned out to be no bigger than 1Gb SD card. Does not support high capacity SD cards (4Gb or larger). Very poor option for this day and age. Stereo does not incorporate giros that will shutdown the DVD play while driving. Don't fall for the BOSS DVD Black box ad. Just run the brake wire to the ground and it plays fine. Good point is the stereo has audio/video out that you can run a RCA cable to the back seat to an external screen and close the stereo LCD while it plays to the backseat. 3. Stereo does not have enough treble adjustment. You may find the need to invest in a passive EQ to add if you want more high pitches. Supports plenty and almost to much bass at low settings. 4. USB out, you may and will have to buy a mini-USB to mini-USB plug if you want to ad an external hard drive or an Mini USB to USB female for thumb drive. 4. Radio illumination should have multi colors adjustment to tone down the BRIGHT blue to Meduim Blue to Soft Blue. The Bright blue is the only setting and is really bright. 5. Once again, Do not lose the remote, radio is usless without it to do any setting change. 6. Bluetooth Mic for calls is very weak. Have to almost yell to get callers to hear. Radio should have incorporated an input to install your own mic. 7. Zoom feature, if your watching a widescreen movie and you, like me do not like the black bars, can zoom in 1 ot 2 to get rid of the bars. cool feature. 8. LCD clarity isn't as good as the picture you see on the ad. Is a bit fuzzy even when I just watched Avatar. A high resolution movie. 9. Don't lose the remote. 10. Go back and read the features in the ad and read this again and make your decision. Overall installation, very easy even for a beginner. All lead clearly marked. Scaloe of 1 to 10. I give this radio a 4. Check Ebay in a couple weeks and you may find my Boss radio on it for a good price. Have a great Navy day!
